Step By Step Regeneration

Step By Step Regeneration

 Step by step regeneration

  1. Turn off water supply to the unit.
  2. Release both cam locks by pulling back on the handles and remove the pre-filter housing, turn upside down and drain out the water.
  3. Unscrew the black housing cap from the blue housing sump and remove the carbon pre-filter. (this will now become the brine reservoir)
  4. Add 2 pounds or approximately half way of the blue sump with water softener pellet salt and screw the housing back on the sump.
  5. Re-install the pre filter housing with salt upside down from its normal position (standing on the black housing cap) and reconnect both cam locks.
  6. Turn the yellow valve handle  to the up position and turn the water supply on, make sure the water outlet is open.
  7. The softener system is now regenerating, you will notice a slower then normal water flow, approximately 2 gallons per minute. Allow the regeneration process 18 to 20 minutes to complete.
  8. Turn the water supply off and turn the yellow handle back to the horizontal position. Remove the cam locks and open the pre-filter housing, wash out any remaining salt.
  9. Place the carbon filter back into the housing and tighten (do not over tighten), and reinstall the pre-filter assembly in the normal position (blue sump downwards) and tighten both cam locks.
  10. Turn water supply on and allow water to flow for 3 to 5 minutes, the system is now regenerated and ready for use.
  11. Rinse any salt that may have that may have spilled on the unit to prevent and corrosion.
