Frequently asked questions


Q. How many gallons will the unit produce before it needs to be regenerated?

     A. Approximately 1000 gallons depending on your water hardness.


Q. Is there a filter that needs to be replaced?

     A. Yes, the Softrinse system uses a carbon pre-filter that needs to be replaced after 20,000 gallons (two years) readily available and around $30.


Q. Is the system complicated to set up or install?

     A. No, the unit is ready to produce soft water straight from the box. It only requires your dockside water source.


Q. Will the system require winterizing during cold seasons?

     A. Yes, the Soft Rinse system should be drained and stored in a non freezing temperature storage.


Q. Will I still need to chamois my boat?

     A. You may have to chamois, but the process will be much, quicker and more effective. 


Q. Will using this system to fill my boats water tanks help my on board reverse osmosis system?

     A. Yes, by pre-filtering and softening the water for your on board tank, will greatly increase the life of your reverse osmosis filters.
